Mennan Bërveniku, has been praised for being one of the most versatile pianists of his generation. Coming from a family with a great musical background in Kosovo, he already came in touch with music at a very young age.
As a winner of several Awards (ARS Kosova International Music Competition, Zagreb International Piano Competition “Zlatko Grgosevic”, Barletta Competition for Young Musicians), Mennan established a rising international career. He has performed in various concert halls throughout the world, such as Musikverein Vienna, Konzerthaus Vienna, Slovenian Philharmonic, Mozarteum Salzburg, to name a few. He has collaborated with conductor Toshio Yanagisawa and Nicolas Radulescu as well as with orchestras such as Kosovo Philharmonic and Franz Schmidt Kammerorchester.
Being a dedicated solo pianist, Mennan is also a sought-after collaborative pianist, both in chamber music and vocal accompaniment. He is one of the founders of the Viennese chamber music ensemble TRIO DOBONA. His repertoire consists of a variety of different styles and eras – particularly Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert and Ravel – including contemporary music. He has been working closely with numerous living composers and has performed in premieres of works by Philipp Manuel Gutmann, Johanna Doderer, Akos Banlaky, Wolfram Wagner and many more.
Born in Pristina (Kosovo) in 1992, Mennan studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and graduated with distinction. Already in his first year he was awarded the university’s annual Gonda-Weiner Prize for Best Young Pianist of the University (2011). He is currently based in Vienna and teaches at the opera department at the same university. We are very glad to say that in 2020 he decided to join BelCantoArts to perform with us.
